From Ajiya Ayuba, Bauchi

The Executive Secretary of the Bauchi State Christians Pilgrims Welfare Board, Honorable Samuel Haruna, has said that Christians in the State are happy that Governor Bala Mohammed was re-elected.

Haruna in an interview.with our correspondent in his office, expressed gratitude for the victory, saying it is a dawn of hope for Christians in the State.

“The victory did not come to us as a surprise considering your pedigree and efforts of building Bauchi State to become like America,” he said.

He said Christians in the State expressed happiness over  the Governor’s re-election, attributing it to  the governor’s doggedness in providing infrastructural development.

“His re-election shows that the voices of the masses who have spoken in clear  terms were loud and clear ,” he said.

According to Haruna, “lt’s only in Governor Bala’s administration that Christians got many appointments and  became close to the seat of power and the Government House”

He added that Christians in the state would continue to  support the governor having witnessed dividends of democracy in his first tenure.

“We are ready to support the administration of Senator Bala Mohammed because of the wonderful job  he has done  for the Christian communities in the state by giving them many appointments in his cabinets.

“We wish him success, God’s guidance, protection and more years ahead in order to continue with the good work of infrastructural development as he started in his first tenure”

Haruna further said that in the history of the state, no governor has contributed immensely to uplifting Christians like the present administration of Governor Mohammed.

He praised his empowerment, provision of farm inputs to farmers on time, upgrading of Health and Education

facilities to world class standard, promotion of peacefully co-existence among various religious and ethnic groups in the state and other infrastructural development.

He urged Christians to continue praying for the success of the next four years mandate given to the  governor in order to continue with the good work started in the first tenure.

“If not because of Governor Bala Mohammed, Christians in Bauchi State would have been like a dumping refuse because they were not considered by past governors.

“However, as soon as the came to power, he recognized Christians  drew them close to him, ensuring peace in their communities, empowering them and providing them with portable water and good roads in their respective communities.

“We will continue praying after he finished his next four years as the state governor, our desire is to see him n 2027 becoming the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria”
