Just In: Goje Wins Gombe Central Senatorial Election

The incumbent senator representing Gombe central Danjuma Goje has won the Gombe central senatorial election conducted on Saturday.
Goje, a former governor of Gombe State has been in the senate since 2011 after he left office as governor of the state and with his election in Saturday’s election, he will now represent his constituency in the red chamber of the national assembly for the third term.
Returning officer for the election Professor Mustapha Mohammed declared Goje winner of the election on Sunday at collation centre.
According to him, Goje of the All Progressives Congress (APC) won with a total number of 102, 916 votes to defeat his closest opponent of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Aliyu Abubakar who scored 37, 870 votes.
