As part of efforts to bring succour to the less privileged people especially in this trying period in the country, a charity foundation known as ‘Alyatam Wal Masakin Foundation’ has launched a charity programme targeting to give alms to 600 residents of the state.

Speaking during the launch of the scheme yesterday at Kumbiya-Kumbiya community in the state capital, the executive director of the foundation Aminu A. Mohammed explained that they would issue forms to the needy after the launch of the scheme noting that beneficiaries would be given the sum of N20, 000 each as alm.

He stated that since the establishment of the foundation, it has been assisting orphans during sallah festivals adding that they are now targeting 2, 000 people for support from 2023 to 2024.

“We target to support about 2, 000 people between this year 2023 to 2024 but 600 people will benefit in the first phase of the programme. Forms will be issued to people who need support to fill and then we will support them base on their needs.

“We will give support for school and or with capital for petty trades and occupations. We believe the gesture will help women the more because if you give a woman N20, 000, she can use it judiciously to start a business”. He stated.

Aminu stated that they were starting with the people of Kumbiya-Kumbiya community which is his birthplace assuring that as soon as they are done with the area, they would extend it to other places in the state.
