Katsina govt signs contract to implement Geographic Information Services

Katsina State Government on Thursday signed of contract for the implementation of Katsina Geographic Information Services (KATGIS) across the state.
Alhaji Usman Nadada, the Honorable Commissioner for Land and Survey while signing the contract on behalf of Governor Aminu Masari, said that the administration is determined to achieve database-driven land administration using information technology.
Nadada further stated that Governor Masari’s administration deemed it necessary to achieve total transformation of the land information system with a view to secure titles, optimize adminstrative workflows, ease land allocation processes, and eliminate land racketeering.
The commissioner disclosed that the project would be completed within 12 months saying it would provide employment to some qualified youth in the State
He commended Governor Aminu Masari for his political will to transform the state and to leveraging the much-needed funds to execute the project.
The contract signing ceremony which held at Katsina Motel was attended by Representatives of the Emirs of Katsina, Durbin Katsina, Alh. Umar Babani Isah Mani, MD Katsina Investiment Promotion Agency, Alhaji Ibrahim Jikamshi, Representatives of Ministry for d Justice, Works, Commerce, FIRS, BIR, Resource Development, Health, Member KTSHA Aliyu Abu Albaba, Institute of Town Planners, Society of Engineers, and Nigerian Customs.
