BY NAJIJULLAHI ADAMU GOMBE
About 2,000 supporters of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Kaltungo local government area of Gombe State yesterday defected to the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP).
Governorship candidate of the party in the state Honourable Khamisu Mailantarki together with other party chieftains received the defectors at the local government.
The governorship candidate while receiving the new decampees said their coming into the party at this period was a great success promising that they would be carried along in all his political activities.
He said both PDP and APC had been opportune to rule the state in the past years alleging however that they had not performed according to the people’s expectations.
Mailantarki stated that NNPP will provide a better alternative in the next year’s election asking the new decampees to mobilize people widely in their places.
“Glory be to almighty God for the successes being recorded by NNPP every passing day. This is as a result of the good manifestos of the party, that is why more people are trooping to join it. Together, we can do it and have a new Gombe State come 2023”. He said.
Some of the party chieftains that attended the event included; the party’s Gombe south senatorial candidate Abigail David Albashi, deputy governorship candidate Hamma Tanimu and state party chairman Maikano Abdullahi among others.
