Few days after Lagos missing teenage was found in Bauchi and reunited with her parents by the police, another teenage girl has been found at an uncompleted building in Rafin Zurfi area of Yelwa Bauchi.

According to Neighborhood Watch, a vigilante group, the girl was found in an uncompleted building adjacent to the Christian Cemetery located in Yelwa on Monday morning.

Dawopda John, a member of the Neighborhood Watch, Yelwa Division, told our correspondent that the girl, aged between 10 and 12, was found traumatised with bruises on her face.

“We found her around some minutes past 7:00 am,” he said.

“She was sitting outside without a top dress. We asked her series of questions but she could not talk but appeared to hear what people are saying but could not respond verbally.

“I called two people in the area to help me ask the girl why she was sitting all alone in front of an incompleted building without wearing clothes but she kept mum

“We discovered she was traumatized”

David said he alerted other members of the Neighborhood Watch and they called their Commander of Yelwa division who called the Divisional Police Officer of Yelwa Police Division.

“Fortunately we got the DPO who quickly sent some police personnel who took the girl to protective custody for further investigation in company if The Child is Gold, an NGO,” he said.

“Based on assessment we are suspecting a rape case but we can’t be certain yet

“On her skirt there appeared to be sign of drops of sperm or something like that and the bruises on her neck showed something happened to her”

He advised the members of the public to assist the group with information on cases like this

The girl has been taken to the police in company with an NGO the Child is Gold with a vehicle and we are waiting for feedback from the police.
