NUJ Bauchi State Council Inaugurates four new Executives

Bauchi State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) on Thursday inaugurated four new executives into the State Working Committee (SWC).
The leadership positions include Vice Chairman, Treasurer, Financial Secretary and Auditor.
Chairman of the Bye-election Committee, Mahmood Ibn Yakubu , disclosed that contestants for the four vacant positions were returned unopposed.
They are Ahmed Kaigama of the News Agency of Nigeria, NAN (Vice Chairman), Danjuma Sarki Sale of Bauchi Radio Corporation, BRC, (Treasurer), Salisu Bala Halliru of Bauchi Television BATV (Financial Secretary), and Ismail Isyaka Wunti of Federal Radio Corporation, FRCN Globe FM Bauchi ( Auditor).
Yakubu said the four contestants satisfied all the elections requirements of the Union and were returned unopposed.
Earlier in his welcome address, Chairman of the State Council, Comrade Umar Saidu, commended the committee for doing a good job.
Saidu the process was well-coordinated and transparent.
He used the occasion to commend the Bauchi State governor, Senator Bala Mohammed for approving the employment of casual workers in the state-owned media to replace those that have retired.
He reiterated the commitment of the state Council in holding regular congresses, assuring that the next congress would be in the next couple of days.
While swearing-in the four new executives, National President of NUJ, Comrade Chris Isiguzo, congratulated them, urging them to work hard in their new assignments.
Isiguzo, who was represented by the National Secretary, North East “Zone E” Alh Sulaiman Baba Gimba, advised the new excutives to use their wealth of experience towards uplifting and upgrading the state Council and the nation at large.
He commended the leadership of the NUJ in the State for recording milestone achievements since its inauguration.
Speaking on behalf of the newly inaugurated executives, Kaigama thanked God for making it possible for all of them to witness the inauguration.
Kaigama assured members of a renewed vigour and style from himself and colleagues towards resolving changes and innovations in the leadership of the council.
