By Najib Sani, Gombe
A poultry farm in Gombe State, ‘AIT Integrated Farms’ has distributed 3,000 boiled eggs to children in various public schools in Gombe State.
The donation was part of commemoration of this year’s World Egg Day by the farm.
Some of the benefiting schools include; Gabukka Kamara Primary School in Herwagana and Gandu Primary School, Gombe.
In his remarks, the proprietor of the farm, Abubakar Inuwa Tata, represented by Hauwa Adamu Saraki, explained that egg is a source of protein opining that a simple egg holds the power to nourish bodies and transform livelihoods.
According to him, they decided to distribute the eggs to children in public schools ‘because several of them are less privileged who might take long time before eating eggs which is a good source of protein and nutrition’.
“This year, as we mark the 2025 World Egg Day celebration, our commitment to nutrition and empowerment continues. We are proudly distributing 3,000 boiled eggs to school children in Gombe State, ensuring that every child touched by this initiative enjoys not just a meal, but a message of hope that good nutrition is the foundation for learning, growth, and a brighter future.
“At AIT Integrated Farms, we believe that nutrition for everybody begins with small, consistent acts of compassion and empowerment”, he stated.
He added that in the same spirit of shared prosperity, the farm is empowering 100 backyard poultry farmers with technical skills and one rooster each to enhance productivity and profitability in their local enterprises.
The schools management commented the farm for the gesture saying the initiative has put smile on the faces of the schools children.
