Sade Expresses Confidence In Minister Of Works, Umahi To Deliver Standard Service

From Paul Orude Bauchi
A seasoned media consultant and public Affairs analyst, Alhaji Abdulrahman Sade, has expressed satisfaction with the competency and antecedents of Minister of Works, David Umahi, to deliver quality service to Nigerians.
Sade absolved Umahi of an alleged award of a section of Abuja-Kaduna road to a non-existence firm.
The philanthropist and traditional titleholder of Sadaukin Bauchi believed the allegations were mischievous, self-centered with the aim to distract the attention of the minister.
Sade made the assertion while speaking to journalists in Bauchi, describing the Minister as a respected Engineer, a seasoned and selfless politician having served as two term governor in Ebonyi State.
He said Umahi, who got elected as senator before his appointment by the President, Bola Tinubu to serve as minister, would never engage in shoddy contract.
“He is the only minister that ply all abandoned and dilapidated roads by car to see for himself the situation at hand,” Sade stated.
“I have known Umahi for a couple of years back, his records are there for anyone to see.
“He is one of the most performing ministers in this administration.
“This I will say with all sense of honesty and without fear of contradiction, his taste for quality work has earned him accolades from different parts of the country.
“Take for instance, the flood that disconnected some part of the federal roads. One can imagine his swift intervention and timely delivery.
“On the Abuja-Kaduna road, it was reported in the media that he awarded the section of the road to a non-existence company.
“It turned out to be inaccurate, the name of the company handling the project is different from what was reported in the media to have been inactive, although sound similar”
Sade, a prominent politician, added that the last administration left over 2,600 federal roads which Umahi had taken upon himself to fix if the government was ready to fund it with over N19trillion.
“He has been an advocate of concrete roads in Nigeria instead of asphalt to save cost,” Sade stated.
“Umahi came out to say that, see, we need to go for concrete roads, the government will save N640bn by constructing Abuja-Kaduna-Zaria-Kano road.
“When he was responding to the media report on the Abuja-Kaduna road contract, he made it clear during a press conference that the Ministry has no business relationship with Infoquest Nigeria Ltd, the firm they claimed was handling the road.
“The actual company working on the project is Infiouest International Limited, which is in compliance with all legal requirements and regulations of the Company and Allied Matters Act”
Sade implored all and sundry, especially the media and groups to give Umahi the support and prayers for the betterment of our country.
When asked about the Lagos- Calabar coastal highway, Sade said gave Umahi the support and praying he would surely deliver.
