Veteran Journalist Ishola Michael of Nigerian Tribune Wins Another Award

Multiple award-winning veteran journalist, Mr Ishola Michael, has been crowned Best Sports Writer of the Year 2024 by the Bauchi State Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN)
Michael , Bauchi State Correspondent and an Assistant Editor with the Nigerian Tribune in charge of the North East, has won several award in the course of his distinguished career
His sterling career was recognised when he was appointed as Chief Press Secretary by the Isa Yuguda administration.
A prolific writer, the veteran journalist, who started his journalism career with Standard Newspaper , Jos, Plateau State, is widely respected for his immense contributions to the advancement of the profession.
“Thank you, my dear Colleagues for your unwavering support, your push for me to always deliver. The award is dedicated to you. Cheers,” he said in a post he shared on the latest award .
Michael is also a notable health correspondent leading the Health Reporters forum and a focal person for United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) in Bauchi State
Meanwhile, Bauchí Radio Corporation (BRC) Chapel Bauchí defeated Nigeria Television Authority (NTA) Chapel via penalty shoot out to win the trophy.
NTA Chapel had early beaten Correspondents’ Chapel 3-0 in the semi final to reach the final. Charles Agwam of the Vanguard was one of the highest scores in the 2024 SWAN Week.
Chairman of the Correspondents’ Chapel, Mallam Ahmed Mohammed praised the resilience and hard work of the Correspondents’ Chapel warriors who beat Information Chapel 3-0 and Bauchí Television (BATV) Chapel respectively to advance to the Semi-final.
With most of their players dodged by injuries , Correspondents’ Chapel was beaten 3-0 and 6-1 respectively by Globe FM Chapel respectively .
Mohammed assured that going forward friendly matches will be organized for the Correspondents’ Chapel team to prepare them for improved performances in subsequent competitions.
