Floods Wreak Havoc In Zamfara

Thousands of people have been sacked from their homes while valuable properties worth millions of naira have been destroyed by floods in Gusau, the Zamfara State capital, following a downpour.

Our correspondent gathered that several farmlands were washed away by the heavy rains.

Metoric Post gathered that the flood started on Friday at about 8:14 a.m and led to uncontrollable destruction of many houses and properties.

It was further gathered that at Angwar Danturai, near Government House, the situation was pitiful as properties worth millions of Naira were destroyed by the ravaging flood.

Also affected by flood was the Secretariat of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) in Gusau where the vicinity was covered by water.

Due to the flood in many parts of  Gusau motorists and motorcycle riders were unable to navigate their way , with some turning back.

Also affected were Samaru and Gengerin Maigemu areas where many houses were destroyed and many resident lost valuables…

Metoric Post report that due to the havoc many traders in Gusau opened their business places late, some as late as around 1 p.m., while some did not operate at all as they were busy bailing water out of their houses due to the flood.

The state Zamfara State Governor Dauda Lawal, has commiserated with victims of flooding.

Recently floods destroyed several of houses in parts of the state which attracted the sympathy of prominent individuals.
