Bauchi PDP Set To Elect New Executives

Following the expiration of the tenure of the People’s Democratic Party Executive in Bauchi State led by Alhaji Hanza Akuyam, no fewer than 2549 delegates on Saturday defiled heavy rain to elect a new leadership.

The PDP state Congress, which held at the Rilwanu Suleiman Adamu Square Government House, attracted prominent party faithful and delegates from the 20 Local Government in the state.

Amidst rainfall, delegates, led by the state Governor Bala Mohammed, who was represented by the Deputy Governor, Auwal Jatau, top Government Officials including the Speaker Suleiman Abubakar, the Secretary to the state government Barrister Ibrahim Kashima, Senator Samaila Dahuwa and top members of the party filed out to cast their votes.

Chairman of the PDP Congress Electoral Committee, Ambassador Gash Umar in his remark before the voting process, acknowledged the leadership of Governor Bala Mohammed (Kauran Bauchi) that has transformed the State in terms of Infrastructure/human capital development.

He also acknowledged the presence of National and State Assembly Members, Independent National Electoral Cimmission (INEC) officials, the outgoing PDP State caretaker committee led by Alh Abba Hassan Grema and Stakeholders of the  party in Bauchi State.

“I thank the outgoing Caretaker Committee as their tenure expires today, and we gather to elect new State Executives for the next four years,”  he said

“As we proceed, let us remember that power belongs to God through the people. 

“The PDP remains the largest political party in Africa and the mother of all other parties. 

“Our task today is to elect new state executives, and where consensus is reached, we must affirm it”
