Sultan of Sokoto formerly declares Wednesday Eid-el-Fitri

The Sultan of Sokoto, Sa’ad Abubakar, has declared Wednesday, April 10, as Eid-el-Fitri day.
This was contained in a press release signed by Professor Sambo Junaidu, the Chairman of the Advisory Committee on Religious Affairs to the Sultanate Council.
The statement confirmed that the council has acknowledged the report and officially designated Wednesday as the commencement of Shawwal 1445AH, as stated in a press release in Sokoto on Monday evening.

“His Eminence, the Sultan felicitates with the Nigerian Muslim Ummah and wishes them Allah’s guidance and blessings.
“The Sultan, while urging the Muslim Ummah to continue to pray for peace, progress, and development of the country, also wishes all Muslims a happy Eid-el-Fitri.”
Saudi Arabia had declared Wednesday, April 10, as Eid-el-Fitr, after the crescent moon was not spotted on Monday evening.
