A housewife, Lubabatu Yusuf, has cried out for justice after a serving Deputy Superintendent of the Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS) Bauchi State command, Sani Saleh Mu’azu, allegedly raped her in presence of two her children.

Lubabatu lamented that since her alleged rape, the police have failed to investigate her complaint but have arrested and detained her husband for alleged defamation of the suspect.

The traumatized victim, whose husband is still in police custody, expressed regret that three weeks after she petitioned the Bauchi State Commissioner of Police, nothing had been done.

She explained that she and her family have been traumatized by the rape incident and arrest of her husband.

How Immigration Officer Raped Me in Front of My Two Sons –Victim

“My name is Lubabatu Yusuf. I am 20 years old and I have two sons aged seven and four years,” she told journalists in Bauchi, as she broke down.

“On December, 9, 2023, at about 3:0 clock in the afternoon, Sani Saleh Muazu came to my house and started hugging me, touching my breasts.

Lubabatu alleged Muazu, a Deputy Superintendent of Immigration raped her

“I begged him to stop it because of my small children but he threatened me, that he was stronger than me so I should just cooperate, moreover he was the one taking care of my family.

“I kept pleading with him to stop as my children were watching as I struggled to free myself from his grip and run away but he kicked me with his leg and I fell down.

“He slapped me and I started crying.

“My seven year old son who had a fractured leg and couldn’t walk crawled into the room on his buttocks from outside and  saw what was happening and started crying, begging him to stop.

“Muazu raised his hand and hit me on the chest repeatedly as my sons cried, saying don’t kill our mother.

“He then pinned me to the ground with his leg. I couldn’t struggle again, climbed me and started having intercourse with me in front of my children.

“My husband heard my children crying and he rushed inside the room and met Mu’azu on top of me and he held him up and started shouting so this is what you are doing to my wife? This has been your intention of bringing us to Bauchi?

“Mu’azu stood up and slapped my husband hard and they started wrestling.

“I was weak, I couldn’t stand up; I was just lying on the bed crying. They kept wrestling until they got outside and he ran away. Up till now as I speak with you I am still feeling the pain”

How Mu’azu Turned Me To A Sex Toy – Housewife

The traumatized victim and her husband reported the matter at the  Police Area Command, Bauchi,  prompting the suspect’s arrest.

Lubabatu was disappointed that the alleged rapist was granted bail by the police.

When asked, Lubabatu said she did not know or couldn’t define the exact relationship between Muazu and her husband. She said her husband did not give her details.

She recalled that her husband had a thriving transport business in Kaduna before he met Muazu who he introduced as an ‘uncle’ and the family saw him as a father figure. According to her, shortly after their meeting, her husband’s business collapsed and the family experienced financial hardship forcing them to be removed from school.

Speaking with journalists Yusuf, who pleaded for justice to be done, alleged that the Immigration Officer was a fraudster who had duped many business people in the country..

Yusuf said Muazu who went about with fake dollars should be arrested and kept behind bar for allegedly siphoned huge amount of money from unsuspecting Nigerians  using diabolical means under the guise  of investment until they are financially grounded just like he did to his transport business in Kaduna which became grounded.

Lubabatu said around June or July, 2023, the Deputy Supernatant of Immigration Officer lured her husband with a promise to make life better for the family and relocated them to Bauchi where he rented an apartment for them along Kano road not knowing he was also enticing her.

Thereafter he allegedly enticed the housewife and made her a sex object for months until the December 9 incident.

Lubabatu explained: “Sani Muazu offered to assist us by bringing us to Bauchi. A week after we arrived here, he came to the house at about 11:00 pm and told my husband to wait by his car outside and entered to room to meet me”

“He told me that he had an aljana (spirit) called ‘mama’ he wanted to introduce to me. Then his voice suddenly changed to that of a woman who claimed she wanted me and Muazu to establish an intimate relationship because she came to assist my family. That Muazu loved me so much. That there were options: that they could kill my husband or separate me from my husband whether I agree not either way I had no choice

“Muazu, still using the female voice, gave me two dollars and warned me that the moment I ever told my husband or anybody what transpired they would kill my husband and make my two children run mad and I would never marry again until I die. He then forced me to have oral sex with him while my husband was outside.

“When he was released he slapped me hard on the face and ordered me that I must swallow his semen next time we had intercourse.

“That was how he came every three days to have sex with me and anytime that happened my husband would be outside not knowing what was happening and I was too afraid what Mauzu had been doing to me because of the threat until that fateful day when my husband caught him”

She explained that the police arrested the suspect and granted bail to carry on with his life using his influence to prevent investigation while her husband was arrested and detained.

How My Husband was Arrested –Rape Victim

She said before her husband was arrested and detained, they had approached a Civil rights organisation seeking justice.

“Sadly, rather than arrest the suspect, it is my husband that has been arrested,” she lamented.

“Some Policemen who came to our house said the Deputy Commissioner of Police sent them to arrest my husband,” she explained as she broke down in tears.

“Life has been hard since his arrest. Barrister Alkassim took us to his brother’s house with my children because the house we live at Giwo along Kano road is in an isolated area and Muazu can take advantage of the situation. Since my husband was arrested I have been crying till now.

“Since he was arrested he had not eaten and I have not eaten too. I am not happy with life at all. I don’t have anybody in Bauchi. I don’t know anybody here. We hail from Zamfara . I am pleading to justice.  My children have stopped school, we don’t have food to eat.  My mother died and till today I have not gone home to mourn her. I am just stranded in Bauchi. I want to see that Mua’zu paid for the crime of raping me in equal measure”

Bauchi State Police Command is Treating Rape Case With Levity Alkassim, –Human Rights Lawyer

Speaking on the development, Founder of African Child Development and Human Rights Protection, Alkassim Muhammad, expressed disappointment that the police had failed to investigate the complaint of rape brought to it by the victim and arrested her husband.

Akassim recalled that he wrote a petition, dated December 22, 2023, to the Commissioner of Police in the state, on behalf of the victim, calling on the Bauchi State Commissioner of Police, Mr Auwal Mohammed, to re-arrest the Deputy Superintendent of Immigration and properly investigate allegation  as rape is crime that must be not be treated with levity.

In the letter entitled: ‘Petition against Sani Sale Mu’azu, Deputy Superintendent of Immigration for Enticing, and Raping One Lubabatu Yusuf: Urgent Need for the Re-Arrest of the Suspect’, the victim appealed for justice.  It was stated in the letter that on December 12, 2023, the victim through her solicitor wrote a petition against the suspect to the Commissioner for the alleged offences of enticing a married woman and rape, contrary to sections 384, 237 and 278 of the Bauchi State Penal Code, 2022.

“We are also calling on organization to come to the aide of this women,” Alkassim ured.

“There are other organiations, FIDA and the likes that are into protection of human rights. This is an example of gender based violence because the lady has been maltreated, this is another way of slavery because it is the right of a woman that have been violated”

Alkassim vowed that the African Child Development and Human Rights Protection will take every legal action to ensure that Lubabatu secures justice in the court of law.

When contacted, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) for the command, Ahmed Wakil, explained that Yusuf was arrested following a complaint of defamation and other charges.

Wakil could not confirm whether the petition letter addressed to the Commissioner of Police by African Child Development and Human Rights Protection had been received. He however disclosed that the police was investigating the incident.

When contacted, Sani Muazu, the Immigration Officer allegedly involved, said he would not comment on the allegation since the issue is being investigated
