Appeal Court affirms Mohammed as Governor of Bauchi State

The Court of Appeal on Friday in Abuja affirmed the election of Bala Mohammed as the duly elected Governor of Bauchi State.
The Appeal Court dismissed the appeal filed by the candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Saddique Baba Abubakar, dissatisfied with INEC’s declaration.
In its judgment, the Appeal Court upheld the decision of the Governorship Election Petition Tribunal, which had earlier ruled in favour Mohammed second-term victory as declared by INEC.
Reacting to the judgement, the Bauchi State Deputy Governor, Mohammed Auwal Jatau lauded the Appeal Court verdict.
Jatau was excited on the successful victory alongside Governor Mohammed and the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in the 2023 governorship election in the state.
He said that the victory at the Appeal Court not only affirms the strength of democracy but also solidifies the commitment of the present administration of Governor Bala Mohammed towards progress, development, and the general well-being of the people of the state.
The Deputy Governor further expressed his sincere appreciation to the Appeal Court for ensuring a fair and transparent judicial process and emphasized that the resounding victory at the appeal court is a triumph for all the state’s people, signifying the PDP-led administration’s collective efforts in advancing good governance, providing quality education, ensuring accessible healthcare, fostering economic growth, and promoting peace and unity.

Our Governor’s victory is a victory for progress, for the downtrodden, and for every citizen who has entrusted their hopes and dreams to our administration,” he said
Auwal Jatau assured the people of Bauchi state of the commitment of the PDP-led administration to their welfare and the development of the state, pointing out that the victory is a fresh impetus to redouble efforts, remain focused and continue delivering on campaign promises.
