Road to 2023: Obi’s popularity has penetrated the North East- Bauchi Labour Party

From David Kuvie Bauchi
The Labour Party (LP) Bauchi State has dispelled misconception that the popularity of the Presidential candidate of the party, Mr Peter Obi is low in the north east.
The Publicity Secretary of LP, Bauchi State chapter, Benjamin Edeh, disclosed this in a press release made available to journalists in the state.
Edeh expressed optimism that the party will win many states in the subregion.
The All Progressives Congress, APC, has dominant presence in Borno, Yobe and Gombe States, while the main opposition party, the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, is currently in power in Adamawa Bauchi, and Taraba States.
Edeh said the LP is not deterred saying the Obi effect is dislodging the APC and PDP in the subregion.
“Some Nigerians are saying there are no Obi-Dattti supporters in the northeast. On the contrary, they must know that the Northeast is for OBi/Datti,” he said.
Edeh, who together with the Chairman of the party, Barrister Usseini Saraki, and others bigwigs of the party organised the one million man match for Peter Obi last year, said the Labour Party has come to stay in the subregion.
He urged supporters of the party in the north East to come out enmass to vote for candidates of the party and make sure that their votes count.
“As one Nigeria, we ought to know that patriotism is a virtue of true children of the soil,” he said.
“Statistics has shown that Nigerians are Obidiently moving to the sound of a genuine change, no longer balderdash, no more political hullabaloo in the North East.
“We assure all the Obidient community of 50 percent votes from the northeast because the APC has failed Nigerians and the PDP is in disarray and cannot show epitome of democratic leadership.
“The only option to end all quest is Obi/Datti and the masses are seeing the reality every day
“Labour party will prevail. We beseech all Nigerians to stand their ground, collect your PVCs and vote in the sun, in the rain, because their votes would be counted.
“The labour of our heroes past shall never be in vain. the 2023 election is not about Obi winning, it’s about the common Nigerian taking back their land”
