PDP appoints Makinde new Chairman of party’s Governors’ Forum
Seyi Makinde of Oyo State has been appointed as the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Governors’ Forum following the resignation of Governor Aminu Tambuwal of Sokoto State from the position.
No fewer than 397 members of the NEC including past national chairmen of the party, the immediate past Vice President of the country, Namadi Sambo, the PDP presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, among others were accredited for the meeting.
A vote of confidence was passed on the embattled National Chairman, Professor Iyorchia Ayu even as some aggrieved members wants his resignation.
All the 397 members of the NEC present at the meeting voted in support of Ayu to continue as the chairman of the party.
