Ethnic groups in Lere North in Tafawa Balewa Local Government Area of Bauchi State have affirmed their unalloyed support for the reelection bid of Governor Bala Mohammed and all the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) candidates in the state in the 2023 general election.

A press release signed by Andarawu Zuya, a major stakeholder from Lere North, made available to journalists on Monday, disclosed that the leaders and stakeholders of the various groups in the area made the endorsement at a town hall meeting  held on Sunday in Bulli community.

According to the release, the meeting was conveyed by Andarawu Zuya, the campaign coordinator for Governor Bala Mohammed in the area.

The stakeholders also used the forum to appeal to Governor Bala Mohammed to look into the issue of the construction of Lere-Buli-DuklinBauchi-Aruti road that will link several communities to Lere town.

The meeting, the release disclosed, was attended by Honourable Samuel J.Haruna, the Executive Secretary  of the Christian Pilgrims Welfare Board, PDP officials, leaders of thought, captains of industry, academia, entrepreneurs, youths and members drawn from every strata of the  society.

The ethnic groups who converged on Bulli are Sigdawa, Lerawa, Sayawa and Fulani, conveyed their solidarity and goodwill messages through their various campaign coordinators, it stated.

These include  Andarawu Zuya,(for  incumbent Governor Senator Bala Mohammed),Mr.Abdullahi Chindo (for Honourable Garba Dahiru (Bauchi South Senatorial District candidate), Mr.Abdullahi Zari (for Barrister Kefas Magaji (House of Representatives candidate, Tafawa Bogoro/Dass) and Mr.Lucky Samaila (for Hon.Lumo,  Lere/Bula Constituency in the State House of Assembly.

Zuya said the meeting was organised puporsely to  brainstorm and ascertain each candidate’s strengths  and weaknesses to ensure that the PDP emerged victorious at all levels in the forthcoming 2023 general election

“The various speakers reiterated their  total and unalloyed support of the people of Lere in Tafawa Balewa Local Government Area to the PDP led administration in the country,” Zuya said.

“His Excellency, Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed, Kauran Bauchi, has done well in three and half years what others could not do in eight years”

According to Zuya, the leaders said the people of Lere North have always given their votes to the PDP and would continue to do so  in the forthcoming general election in 2023.

He promised that the coordinators would mobilise the people  of Lere North to ensure that APC get zero votes in the forthcoming general election.

While responding, Haruna applauded the resilience of the people of Lere North saying their commitment in sticking with the PDP was exemplary.

Haruna said PDP was the only political party that will salvage Nigeria from her present predicament.

He promised to channel their request for construction of the Lere-Buli-DuklinBauchi-Aruti road

to the Governor for  immediate action.

The Executive Secretary  of the Christian Pilgrims Welfare Board, advised the people of Lere North to always give their votes in bulk to PDP,  saying this unalloyed support will no doubt attract more capital projects  and more dividends of democracy to the area.
