Ramadan: Jubilation as Zamfara Pays February Salaries, Pension

Yusuf Mayeli, Gusau
The Zamfara State Government has paid February salaries and pensions to civil servants and retirees across the state asualim faithful commence the Ramadan fast.
The payment, approved by Governor Dauda Lawal, was made in advance of the holy month to ease financial pressure on workers and pensioners and enable them to prepare adequately for the period of fasting and devotion.
According to a statement issued on Monday by the Director-General, Media and Communication, Nuhu Salihu Anka, the governor directed the State Accountant-General to release the funds without delay, describing the move as part of the administration’s commitment to workers’ welfare.
The statement noted that the governor’s action was informed by the economic realities facing families, particularly during Ramadan, a period that emphasizes charity, justice, and responsibility.
Governor Lawal also urged civil servants, pensioners, and the Muslim community to use the Ramadan period to pray for peace, unity, and stability in Zamfara State, while reaffirming that the welfare of workers, retirees, and citizens remains a top priority of his administration.
