The decisive moment came in extra time when midfielder Pape Gueye unleashed a powerful shot from outside the box that flew into the top corner, leaving the Moroccan goalkeeper with no chance.

It proved to be the only goal in a match filled with controversy, emotion, and disorder.

The game was overshadowed by chaotic scenes late in regulation time.

In stoppage time of the second half, Morocco were awarded a penalty following a VAR review, with officials ruling that Brahim Díaz had been fouled in the box.

The decision sparked outrage among the Senegalese players, who temporarily walked off the pitch in protest.

Amid the confusion, Senegal believed they had taken the lead moments earlier through Ismaïla Sarr, but the goal was ruled out following an earlier whistle,

The video review could not be applied.

The sequence of decisions intensified tensions on and off the field.

Ibrahim Díaz ultimately failed to convert the penalty, keeping the score level and forcing the match into extra time.

As emotions boiled over, some supporters broke through barriers in the stands, prompting security concerns and delays.

Despite the turmoil, Senegal regained focus in extra time and found the breakthrough that secured the title.

The victory marks another major achievement for Senegalese football and caps a turbulent final that will be remembered as much for its controversy as for its football.
