Bauchi: Senator Shehu Buba Distributes 21,000 Bags of Semovita to 20 LGAs

From Paul Orude Bauchi
Seator Shehu Buba Umar, representing Bauchi South Senatorial District of Bauchi State, has distributed over 21,000 bags of Semovita to members of his constituency and 20 local government areas to cushion the effects of the current economic hardship in the country.
This gesture comes after the senator recently gave out ₦10,000 cash and a bag of Semovita each to 1,000 women at the Federal Low-Cost Jummaat Mosque.
Senator Buba expressed optimism that the prevailing hardship would soon ease, citing the successes recorded by the President Bola Tinubu-led Federal Government in stabilising and improving the economy.
He noted that steps to address the current challenges include the distribution of palliatives, which he has carried out several times across Bauchi State, beyond his immediate constituency.
“The Federal Government has, to a large extent, stabilised the exchange rate of the national currency against others, thereby improving imports and exports,” Senator Buba said.
He further disclosed that the Senator representing Bauchi North Senatorial District, Sama’ila Dahuwa, would soon join the All Progressives Congress (APC).
“Senator Dahuwa has resigned from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). I am also calling on the Senator representing Bauchi Central, Abdul Ahmed Ningi, to dump the PDP and join the APC so that we can work together to move the state and the country forward,” he stated.
Senator Buba commended the peaceful conduct of his constituents, noting that their support has enabled the APC-led government of President Tinubu to deliver dividends of democracy to the people.
He urged continued cooperation with the government at all levels, stressing that “without peace, there can be no meaningful development.”
The State Organising Secretary of the APC, Alhaji Abdulkadir Gyangyan, who chaired the distribution committee, commended Senator Buba for consistently reaching out to his constituents.
“You have reduced hunger among our people,” Gyangyan said.
He explained that 1,000 bags of Semovita would be distributed across the seven local government areas of Bauchi South — Bauchi, Dass, Tafawa Balewa, Bogoro, Toro, Alkaleri, and Kirfi which Senator Buba represents.
According to him, the remaining 13 local government areas will each receive 500 bags, while additional allocations will go to party officials at zonal and state levels, political organisations, and various individuals and associations.
Also speaking, APC stalwart Alhaji Aminu Muhammad (Danmalikin Bauchi) urged constituents to pray for Senator Buba’s continued success, describing him as the only senator who has consistently supported his people in all spheres of life.
Danmaliki recalled that Senator Buba sponsored 500 students to study physical and environmental sciences at Malikiyya College and supported many others to pursue education within
