Jigawa Wraps Up 2024 With Poverty Eradication To Zero Level – Sankara

Jigawa State Government has recorded remarkable successes through multiple feats achieved in 2024.
Honorable commissioner for Special Duties, Auwal Sankara,who made the assertuon in Dutse.
Sankara commended Governor Umar Namadi, for making life easy for many citizens as targeted within the stipulated period.
“So far Jigawa stands as first state to drastically reduced poverty through various direct policies that addressed the plight of the citizens especially at the most needed time of government support,” he stated.
“Governor Umar Namadi, set up a committee of patriots to chart a smooth way for equitable distribution of food to cushion the effect of petroleum subsidy removal, which the ministry of Special Duties carried.
“This was done through setting up of palliative shops sited in Sule Tankarkar Local Government, and Gwaram local government, and Garki local government, Jahun local government, Guri local Government and Buji local government.
“Others are Mallam Madori local government, Kafin Hausa local government and Miga local government, Ringim local government, Gwiwa local government, Birniwa local Government, Dutse and Taura local government.
“Items distributed included rice of 50 kilogram, 25 kg, 10kg, 5 kg and beans provided at same 50 kg, 25kg, 10kg and 5 kilogram and maize and Guinea corn of 50, 25, 10 and 5 kilograms too and millets of various kilograms too and cartoons of spaghetti with a discount of huge price to ease pain and hardship.
“Also a specialized card was provided for the beneficiaries to access any variety of choice.
“We separated Ramadan feeding because of its significance, in this regard, the government decided to be feeding hundreds of people across all the local government areas of the state down to the scratch level which captured over 600 political wards”.
He said that tertiary institutions alao benefitted from free feeding with 300 people fed daily during the month of Ramadan.
Sankara further said the rationale behind giving token amount of money to vulnerable and destitute to all the 27 local government areas of the state was to support them to cater for daily needs or to start up a business.
“In order to support flood victims, the Governor directed our ministry to provide relief materials to the victims at various sections in the state,” he discosed.
“These items, included foods in abundance, cardigans, insecticidal nets, mats etc. and money to aid their activities.
“This after setting of 12 temporal befitting camps. Interestingly, for the first time Jigawa state met its quota at the federal character commission where credible indigene of the state filled the required vacuum.
“These are 30 indigenes that joined the Nigeria Fire service, 430 indigene aided to join the Nigeria army and 70 people enlisted in the Nigeria navy, while 446 joined Nigeria police, 180 people opted to join the Nigeria immigration services, 70 joined the Nigeria Air force and 55 indigenes joined the Nigeria Defense Academy, and 57 joined the Nigeria police Academy wudil, and for short service in the Nigeria Army are 12 people and 8 people joined the Air force short service and another 8 people joined the navy short service and 10 indigenes aided to joined the military school Zaria and another 6 indigene joined calabar navy school.
“We supported our cadet with N1 million each while those in Wudil police training school receives laptop to aid their pursuits.
