MLSCN Inducts 55 Gombe Health School Graduands

A total of 55 medical laboratory technicians who graduated from a health college in Gombe State known as ‘Lamido School of Hygiene and Health Sciences’ were yesterday inducted into the Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria (MLSCN).
The induction which was the first of its kind for the school’s graduands was performed by the representative of the registrar of the council during the matriculation ceremony of the newly admitted students of the school.
Speaking at the occasion, the provost of the school Muhammad Kwami explained that this was the first induction ever witnessed by the school since its establishment in 2015 and lauded the Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria for considering the school’s products worthy to be inducted into the council.
He said with their induction, the graduands were now certified and licensed to practice calling on them to endeavour to work in health facilities or medical laboratories in order to remain professional and get more expertise in the job.
The provost noted that the school runs five accredited courses such as; Community Health, Dental Surgery, Environmental Health, Medical Laboratory Technology and Health Information Management adding that they have the required facilities to train their students including; physics laboratory, chemistry laboratory, anatomy laboratory, demonstration laboratory, physical library, e-library as well as a functional clinic for practicals.
He said the school was established to contribute towards the development of the health sector by producing competent health workers.
