Gombe People Hail Tinubu Over Reappointment of Yelwa as HYPPADEC

From Paul Orude Bauchi
he Gombe Unity and Development Mandate Forum (GUDMF) has commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for reappointing Alhaji Abubakar Sadiq Yelwa (Katukan Yauri) as the Managing Director of the Hydroelectric Power Producing Areas Development Commission (HYPPADEC).
Addressing a press conference at Chartwell Hotel, Bauchi, the Secretary of GUDMF, Engineer Aliyu Musa Aliyu, congratulated Yelwa on what he described as a well-deserved reappointment.
He said the reappointment reflects Yelwa’s “unwavering dedication, visionary leadership, and outstanding contributions to the development of hydroelectric power-producing communities in Nigeria.”
Aliyu noted that Yelwa’s first tenure was marked by remarkable strides in infrastructural development, youth empowerment, and sustainable initiatives that positively impacted lives across HYPPADEC member states.
“We are confident that under his renewed leadership, he will continue to justify the confidence reposed in him through an exemplary leadership style that will enable HYPPADEC achieve even greater milestones in line with its mandate,” he stated.
According to him, communities in Gombe, Nassarawa, and Taraba states were included in HYPPADEC because of Yelwa’s zeal and determination to move the nation forward. He added that residents of Dadin Kowa Dam in Gombe State have already begun benefiting from HYPPADEC projects, which are improving their living conditions.
Aliyu expressed the Forum’s gratitude to President Tinubu and his cabinet “for recognizing Sadiq Yelwa’s exceptional capabilities and granting him a renewed opportunity to serve.”
He further appealed to the Senate to expedite Yelwa’s screening and confirmation “in the best interest of Nigeria, especially the benefitting communities of HYPPADEC programmes.”
The GUDMF also lauded governors of HYPPADEC catchment states and other stakeholders for supporting Yelwa’s reappointment, describing their efforts as a demonstration of patriotism
