Bala Mohammed Revives First Civilian Governor’s Residence

From Paul Orude Bauchi
Reconstruction of the private residence of the late Abubakar Tatari Ali, Bauchi State’s first civilian governor, is almost complete, with work standing at about 90 percent.
Architect Jibrin Mahmoud, the project contractor, disclosed that the work will be finalized within the next month. The initiative covers not just the residence but also a monument housing the former governor’s tomb, a museum, a mosque, an Islamic school, and residential quarters.
State Commissioner for Information, Usman Shehu Usman, explained that Governor Bala Mohammed ordered the reconstruction during his visit to Zaki Local Government Area, emphasizing the importance of restoring the dignity of the historic residence which had deteriorated over time.
The commissioner praised the governor for initiating the project, noting that it honors the memory of Tatari Ali, who was remembered for his devotion to governance and religious values.
