ADC Youth Mobilise Voters on Massive Registration

By Najib Sani, Gombe
A youth support group of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) known as ADC Youth Ambassadors have sensitised Nigerian youths to register massively in the party to enable them have stake ahead of the 2027 general elections.
National convener of the group, Honourable Ahmad Shehu Hassan, made the call during the National Sensitisation of Voters and Mobilisation for Membership Registration programme that drew youth leaders, women champions, student representatives, and party men from different parts of the north held in Bauchi.
Hassan declared that Nigerian youths could no longer be bystanders in the scheme of things in the country.
He said ADC is going to be the ‘most formidable opposition party’ in the next elections urging the youth to leverage on the opportunity to join it in order to contribute to its victory.
According to him, only if the youth have good number of members in the party that they could have stake and chances to contribute meaningfully in governance.
Aside the party registration, Hassan urged the youth to register in the ongoing voters registration being conducted by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
The convener decried the current problems bedevilling the nation including inflation, insecurity and poverty saying Nigerians must rise up to effect change through the ballot.
“Since 2023, inflation has hit families like a hammer. Food prices are unbearable. Nigerians cannot farm, travel, or even sleep in peace. This APC government promised renewed hope but delivered nothing.
“Our strongest weapon is our Permanent Voter’s Card. With it, we can vote out those who betrayed us and usher in a new Nigeria. ADC is not just a party, it is a movement, we should all throw our weights behind it”, he said.
In his speech, ADC National Youth Leader, Comrade Balarabe Rufa’i, praised the energy of Bauchi youths and formally handed over the ADC flag to Hassan, describing it as both a symbol of trust and a call to courage.
“From the moment I stepped into the hall, the energy was electric. Every face carried a message: we are ready to decide 2027.
“Bauchi has lit a torch that must now burn across Nigeria. Register continuously, hold on to your PVCs, and stand with ADC because the youth have decided, and 2027 is ours to shape”, he said.
Also, a prominent figure in the party and anti corruption activist, IG Wala, challenged Nigerian youths and women to take their rightful place in politics.
He urged them to move beyond tokenism and ensure that trusted, capable leaders emerge from their ranks.
“Youths must be ambassadors of change, not instruments in the hands of politicians. Do not sell your future for handouts, do not be used as cannon fodder during elections. Reject drugs, pursue education, and prove that this generation is ready to lead responsibly”, he advised.
