Bauchí To Recruit More Staff For Radio, TV Stations

Bauchí State Government is set to recruit more workers into the services of the Bauchí Radio Corporation (BRC) and Bauchí Television (BATV) respectively as part of an ongoing effort to reposition the media outfits in line with modern broadcasting.
The Commissioner for Information and Communication, Usman Shehu Usman, disclosed this at a capacity building training organised for staff of BRC and BATV by the ministry, held at the Development Exchange Centre (DEC), Bauchi, on Wednesday.
“From Bauchi State government, I would like to assure you that, the Government of Senator Bala Abdulkadir Muhammad, is ever ready to support our Media Outfits to make their best in the modern trend of Broadcasting,” Usman said.
“Very soon, we will employ more hands to support the stations, besides the ongoing effort to revive the fortunes of both BRC and BATV.
“Very soon, the two stations will be fully revived in the common interest of our dear state”
The Commissioner explained that the capacity building workshop was part of efforts to revive the media outfits by enhancing the skills of Editors, Reporters, Producers, Presenters and other key personnel in BATV and BRC.
He said the training would enable workers in the two stations to share knowledge and strengthen capacity to deliver.
“Ministry of Information and Communication in collaboration with BRC and BATV have understood the need for staff productivity,” he stated.
“Productivity cannot be achieved without capacity, hence our decision to initiate this very important training where our key resource persons who are people of quality and trust, will take us for the next three days through vigorous Professional areas of capacity enhancement”
“We hope to see better performance at the end of the day, from excellent reporting skills, sound Editorial Judgement, creative Programming, innovative Presentation and captivating story-lines and ideas that will enrich our contents of broadcasting.
“Training like this one, is a school of its own, where open discussions, deep analysis and visionary forecasting of news and Programmes trend will be developed and to remain rolling now onward to a very long time”
Athe training as attended by the General Manager , BATV, Usman Baba and the Managing Director of the BRC Umar Shira.
Others include the State Head of Service, the NBC State Officer, Chairman of Board of Directors of State Media, NUJ State Council Chairman, RATTAWU Chairman.
