NUC Accredits 12 Degree Courses At North Eastern University, Gombe

The National University Commission (NUC), has accredited all the 12 degree programmes run by the private university in Gombe State, the ‘North Eastern University, Gombe.

Vice Chancellor of the university, Professor Yusuf Yahya, disclosed this during the celebration of the accreditation in a ceremony attended by the staff and students of the institution.

He explained that the university was established in 2022 and presented its 12 academic programmes for NUC accreditation, expressing delight that all the 12 courses received full accreditation.

According to him, the accredited programmes include degrees in Business Administration, International Relations, Accounting, Architecture, Computer Science, Information Technology, Public Administration, Software Engineering, Economics and Development Studies, Cyber Security, Industrial Chemistry, and Mass Communication.

Professor Yahya also revealed that eight additional degree programs are slated for accreditation in November this year, while the university has already received NUC’s approval to run BSc Political Science, Biotechnology, Microbiology, and Urban and Regional Planning, all of which are open for the 2025/2026 academic session.

In his speech, the Pro-Chancellor and Founder of the university, Dr Sani Jauro, expressed satisfaction with the performance of staff and students and announced a 20% salary increment for all staff.

He reiterated the university’s commitment to academic excellence, promising to provide students with the best teaching and training.
