The Muhammadu Buhari Industrial Park, Gombe State, is on the verge of unlocking a new era of industrial growth in northern Nigeria. With the near-completion of the park’s electricity substation and the successful erection of key infrastructure such as the 132KV Bay Extensions Gantry Towers, Gombe State is making a powerful statement: it’s ready to become a leading hub for industry, investment, and job creation.

For too long, Nigerian businesses have been hindered by the country’s inconsistent power supply.

Located in Dadin Kowa, the 1,000-hectare park is strategically positioned near the Dadin Kowa Dam and the 40 Megawatt hydroelectricplant to ensure a reliable power supply for industrial activities.

Governor Yahaya has implementedstrategies like tax breaks, streamlined bureaucratic processes, and investor engagement to attract both local and foreign investments. The park aligns with Nigeria’s Economic Recovery and Growth Plan (ERGP), emphasizingindustrialization and economic diversification.

From manufacturing to agro-processing, the lack of reliable electricity has been a major barrier to growth, productivity, and competitiveness. The Muhammadu Buhari Industrial Park is set to change that narrative.

The near-completion of the substation, which will ensure a stable and independent power supply, is a milestone not just for Gombe, but for the entire northeast region. It represents the breaking down of one of the most significant hurdles to industrialization.

Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya’s vision for the park has been clear from the start: to create a thriving industrial zone that attracts both local and foreign investment, spurs economic growth, and provides meaningful employment opportunities for the people of Gombe State. This power infrastructure is a key component of that vision.

With the promise of uninterrupted electricity, the park will offer businesses the stability they need to flourish, making it an attractive destination for industries across sectors such as manufacturing, agro-processing, and light industrial ventures.
The importance of this development cannot be overstated. Power reliability is often the number one concern for businesses when deciding where to invest. By addressing this concern head-on, Gombe State is positioning itself as one of Nigeria’s most attractive locations for industrial investment. Businesses in the park will not be stifled by the power interruptions that have long plagued Nigeria’s industrial landscape.

Beyond the infrastructure itself, the economic impact of this project is set to be profound.

The Muhammadu Buhari Industrial Park is expected to create thousands of jobs—both directly within the park and through the ripple effect in local communitiesand across the state.

These jobs will not only reduce unemployment but also provide critical skills development and empower a new generation of workers. With its focus on sectors like manufacturing and agro-processing, the park will help diversify the local economy, reducing dependence on agriculture and creating a more balanced, sustainable economic foundation for Gombe and the northeast region.

This investment in power infrastructure is also in line with with the Federal Government’s broader economic objectives. As the country seeks to reduce its reliance on oil and build a more diversified economy, industrial hubs like the Muhammadu Buhari Industrial Park will play a critical role.

The potential of the park goes beyond Gombe. The impact of a thriving industrial zone will radiate throughout the North-East, attracting businesses and talent from neighbouring states and beyond. The park will drive regional economic development and strengthen the position of Gombe as a key player in Nigeria’s industrial future.

Governor Inuwa Yahaya’s commitment to improving the state’s infrastructure is setting a strong example for other state leaders across Nigeria. His focus on this direction, in particular, shows an understanding of the fundamental needs of businesses and how addressing these needs can lead to broader economic growth.

With this milestone, Gombe is positioning itself as a key industrial destination, capable of attracting investment, creating jobs, and driving economic diversification. The Muhammadu Buhari Industrial Park is a forward-thinking project that promises to help Nigeria’s industrial sector take a giant leap toward long-term growth and sustainability.
