Katsina: Gov Radda Recruits Additional 550 Community Watch Corps

From Abdul Ganiyu Katsina
Governor Dilkko Umar Radda has disclosed that his administration has recruited an additional 550 Katsina Community Watch Corps to enhance security surveillance in 10 vulnerable local governments in the state.
Radda made the disclosure during the graduation ceremony the second batch of our Community Watch Corps held in Katsina .
The governor said the graduation ceremony was a momentous occasion with immense pride and profound gratitude not just for the graduants but also the embodiment of hope, unity, and resilience in Katsina State.
“My administration has recruited an additional 550 Katsina Community Watch Corps to enhance security surveillance in 10 vulnerable local governments, namely Dutsinma, Kurfi, Charanchi, Musawa, Matazu, Malumfashi, Danja, Kafur, Bakori, and Funtua,” he disclosed.
“When we launched the Community Watch Corps over a year ago, we embarked on a journey rooted in the belief that the most effective way to secure our communities is through active participation and collaboration.
“The community approach was not just a strategy but a vision to empower our people to take ownership of their safety and well-being. The government believes that a community-driven approach better serves a community in crisis. The transition from a kinetic-focused to a non-kinetic approach to tackling insecurity has always been our objective.
“As we look to the future, I am optimistic the strides we have made in just one year indicate the potential we have to completely transform the security landscape of Katsina State. With continued collaboration, dedication, and the unwavering support of our people, I have no doubt that we will overcome the challenges that lie ahead.
“I want to use this opportunity to offer my deepest condolences to the loved ones we have lost in the fight against insecurity. All agencies have suffered casualties, and may Allah have mercy on their souls.
“In closing, I want to express my deepest appreciation to everyone who has contributed to this success—the federal security agencies for their partnership, our traditional and religious leaders for their guidance, and the families of our officers for their support”
