Baze University Names Science Medical Laboratory after Governor Bala Mohammed

The Baze University, Abuja, has named its science medical laboratory after Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State.

The honor was formally conferred on   Mohammed during the university’s 11th convocation ceremony on Saturday.

Metoric Post reports that esteemed guests, faculty members, students, and alumni came together to celebrate Mohammed’s remarkable leadership and invaluable contributions to education.

“The gesture of deep appreciation for his unwavering commitment to educational development in Bauchi State and across Nigeria,” the governor’s Special Adviser on Media, Comrade Muktar Gidado said in a press statement.

“Governor Bala Mohammed’s tenure as Governor has been marked by a profound dedication to elevating educational standards, fostering innovation, and empowering the youth of Bauchi State and Nigeria,” it stated.

“Under his visionary leadership, the state has witnessed substantial advancements in its educational infrastructure, policies, and accessibility, ensuring that quality education is available to all.

“Governor Bala Mohammed has consistently demonstrated his commitment to transforming Bauchi State into a hub of academic excellence and intellectual growth.

“His administration has undertaken significant projects to enhance learning environments at all levels.

“Through strategic partnerships, increased funding, and targeted policies, Governor Mohammed has established new schools, upgraded facilities, and introduced teacher-training programs to elevate educational outcomes.

“In addition, Governor Mohammed has been a staunch advocate for youth empowerment, implementing scholarship programs and vocational training initiatives that provide opportunities for young people to acquire practical skills.

“These efforts reflect his understanding that a well-educated populace is vital to Nigeria’s progress and prosperity.

“His commitment extends beyond Bauchi State, as Governor Mohammed is a vocal supporter of initiatives aimed at strengthening Nigeria’s educational framework.

“He has been actively involved in advocating for national policies that prioritize education, working towards a future where every Nigerian child has access to quality learning and development opportunities”

Speaking earlier in his speech, the founder and new chancellor of Baze University, Senator Datti Baba – Ahmed, said the university honored Governor Bala Mohammed for his kindness, leadership qualities , love , support and protection of Baze University .

The Special Guest of Honor at the occasion, His Royal Highness Alhaji Muhammad Hameen Sanusi, Emir of Dutse, unveiled the new Governor Bala Mohammed building.

Mohammed was represented at the ceremony by the commissioner of Education, Dr. Jamila Dahiru, in company with Dr Nasiru Ahmed Ala , Chairman Bauchi State House of Assembly Committee on Education , Hon. Faruq Mustapha , Commissioner for Special Duties and Rural Development as well as Comrade Mukhtar Gidado , Special Adviser Media and Publicity to the Governor .

In her remarks, Dr Dahiru congratulated the Baze University for its exceptional performance across diverse fields and encouraged the University to build on this legacy and strive for even greater achievements in all endeavors.

Dahiru thanked the board and management of the University for the honor bestowed on the governor saying it is for the entire people of Bauchi State.

Farid Aminu Hammayo  emerged as the overall best graduating student with a first Class  Degree in Economics .

Hammayo, from Bauchi State, is the son of Hon Aminu Hammayo,  Bauchi State Commissioner  for Budget, Planning and Multi-lateral coordination. In recognition of Hammayo’s outstanding performance, the chancellor of the University , Datti Baba – Ahmed presented a  personal donation of #20,000,00 to further his education, in addition to an automatic employment offered to the distinguished grandaunt  at the Baze University
