NIPR Bauchi State chapter launches book at 2022 AGM

The Nigerian Institute of Public Relations ,NIPR, Bauchi State Chapter, has launched a book entitled Community Relations strategy: A Primer for Public Relations of Corporate Players in Developing Nations at its 2022 Annual General Meeting (AGM).
The new book was presented and launched at the AGM of the chapter held at the Federal Polytechnic, Bauchi, on Thursday, under the chairmanship of Ambassador Babaji Umar, represented by the Rector of Federal, Polytecnhic, Bauchi, Architect Sanusi Waziri Gumau.
The event was attended by many prominent people including the Governor of Bauchi State, Senator Bala Mohammed, Emir of Bauchi Dr Rilwanu Adamu, Ahmed Mohammed Ahmed, Artistic Director of the National Troupe.
In his welcome address, Chairman of the state chapter, Kabir Ali Kobi, described the presentation and launching of the book as historic.
“The book which is a compilation of contributions from members of the Chapter and beyond, was put together by the Chapter’s Book Publication Committee which has capable hands under the leadership of the Editor of the book, Dr Hamid Adamu Muhammad,” Kobi said.
“In fact, it will not be an over exaggeration to say that, the book we are launching today, is of International standard and that is why we at the Chapter, are proud of Dr Hamid’s Committee as the Committee has made us proud. We sincerely appreciate you Dr Hamid and members of your team.
“Let me reiterate at this juncture that, our vision for this Chapter as you are all aware, is to make every sustainable effort to reach excellence in spheres of Public Relations by weaving the thread of enterprise, knowledge, experience, ideas and tasks into a fabric that can really be called Public Relations practice”
The book reviewer, Professor Auwal Uba Vice Chancellor, Sa’adu Zungur University, Gadau, described the book as an excellent piece of work that has the tendency to re-create a harmonious relationship between employers and employees.
Uba,who noted that the book was brilliantly written, said it is a pacesetter work that I’d properly engaged,will amend broken relationships between communities and corporate organisations, citing the Niger Delta region as an example.
In his remarks, the National President of NIPR, Muktar Zubairu Sirajo, who was represented by Kabiru Garba Aminu, National Council member and Ex-Officio promised that the book will be circulate in all chapters of the NIPR across the country.
The Chief Launcher of the book, Hassan Haleem Abdullahi, who urged that the book should be circulated to all relevant agncies and Mass Communication departments of all tertiary institution, set the ball rolling by announcing the launching of the book with the sum of N500,000, another N400,000 from his friends and associates.
In his remark, Governor Bala Mohammed, who was represented by his Special Adviser, Muktar Gidado, described NIPR Bauchi State as one of the most vibrant and pledged the sum of N1 million for 10 copies of the book.
Governor Mohammed described the book as well conceived and timely saying it will address the needs of students of public practitioners and strengthen the practical needs of practitioners.
The sum of N2.6 million was realized as sum and pledges during the book launch.
